Think of Instagram like Facebook’s visually-obsessed little brother. Instagram only features pictures and videos so it’s a great channel to build your brand. Here’s how to use it effectively:
CREATE AN ACCOUNT
Much like Twitter, you’ll need to create a separate account for your business. If you’re already logged in to your personal account, just click on your profile and then click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner. Log out and then click “Create account.” It’s a good idea to choose the same name on Instagram that you chose on Facebook and Twitter. That way, it’s easier for your patients to find you on all channels.
On Instagram, following other people can often earn you a follow back. Start by following hospitals or other health care centers in your area to get noticed by other healthcare industry folks.
WHAT TO POST
Beautiful pictures definitely perform best on Instagram. But don’t worry if you’re not a pro photographer. People, animals and nice outdoor scenes will perform well regardless of how artsy it is. However, try and choose the same filter for all of your photos to create a consistent look. And don’t forget to use local hashtags to attract potential patients.
HOW OFTEN TO POST
Quality tops quantity when it comes to Instagram. Post when you have something worthy of sharing but don’t worry if you haven’t posted for a few weeks.
